SIMULACRA
Photographed over four months in museums, zoos and national parks, these images contain a mix of both real plants and animals, imagined landscapes, dioramas, and taxidermy. The project takes its title from the seminal work by French theorist, Jean Baudrillard, who argued that simulacra are not merely copies of the real, but become truth in their own right. The images presented, test the viewers’ powers of understanding and interrogate the status of the real world.
